NEVF Clothing & Textile Drive with Helpsy

Help the planet and support our non-profit by bringing your old and unwanted clothing and textiles to the 2024 New England VegFest.

VegFest has partnered with Helpsy to run a textile collection drive at this year’s fest. Attendees can bring any of the items in the list down below, including clothing, footwear, accessories, and linens.

Why Participate?

There are many benefits to joining our drive! Just to name a few:

Keep Clothes Out of the Trash

Did you know that on average in the U.S., each person discards over 100 pounds of clothing per year, 85% of which end up in landfills (according to the EPA)? By bringing your clothes to our drive, you can ensure they stay out of the trash and won’t harm the environment.

Support our Non-Profit Cause

For our drive, Helpsy will pay VegFest $.10/pound for clean, dry clothing, accessories, and shoes. With thousands of attendees joining us, this support could really add up! Funds raised will help fuel our non-profit work promoting plant-based living for all.

Declutter Your Home the Right Way

In Massachusetts, it’s illegal to throw away clothing, footwear, bedding, curtains, fabric, and similar items. Our drive is your chance to clean out your closets and get rid of old textiles the right way.

Give Old Clothes a New Life

95% of materials collected by Helpsy can be reused or recycled, going to thrift stores in North America and secondhand markets around the world, while lower grades can be turned into rags or stuffing and insulation. Clothing reuse is a big deal and reduces the enormous environmental burden of the second most polluting industry in the world.

NEVF is proud to partner with Helpsy, a certified B Corp and Public Benefit Corporation with a mission to keep clothes out of the trash and to create honorable work. Read more about their impact.
